GROUP 7
This collection allows you to see the different visions of each artists' mind, heart, and soul.
The word 'stripped' means removing all covering. In this case like an onion, the artists revealed layers on what they stand on, what is inside their minds and hearts, and as well as what they felt or are feeling during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Save Me, 2020
Oil on canvas & illustration board
‘Save Me’ is a two-piece artwork that lets you see what is inside of my mind, soul, and heart.
If you look at the artwork closely, you will see two figures embracing each other which represents me; keeping myself together throughout the chaos in my head and in the world. I have chosen the color red to represent my mind and heart that is in constant chaos.
Stepping back, you will notice that the first artwork is surrounded by news articles about the ‘extrajudicial killings’ in the Philippines. You will also notice that you cannot distinguish the two figures’ features— is it a male or female? Are the figures in the artwork young or old? I intentionally made those traits indistinguishable to give the message that anyone can be in that spot—they are either the one hugging or the one being hugged. There are a lot of headlines that surround the artwork because I also wanted to show the fact that we who are part of the middle class or elites are not the ones who fear being accused or being framed, but it is those who are part of the lower class who have this fear. When you read the stories of those news headlines we can see that the poor are always the victims of extrajudicial killings.
The color red represents the anger of the blue figure; the blue color represents the sadness or mourning of the figure, and lastly, I chose the color green for the second figures’ death and return to nature, and hopefully, they will find peace.
I have always been politically outspoken especially with issues in our country, the Philippines. When I was looking at the first artwork I did, it reminded me of a photo that I saw in an article. It was a mother embracing his dead son who was accused of either using drugs or pushing drugs. When I thought about it more, I felt like we quickly forget what the police officers and our President did to the victims and to their families.
The ‘me’ on ‘save me’ does not only pertain to myself but also to the victims who were or are being treated terribly by the supporters of the war on drugs as well as those who are in the place of power.

Digital art
Imagery of someone being underwater can represent drowning in which they can experience this mentally and emotionally, but without struggling it is simply a place of tranquility, if you will.

QUALITY IN QUARANTINE, 2020
Digital art
As a student with a hobby of creating art pieces, I make use of the skill mostly to express myself or ideas that come to mind, and so I execute them in attempt to maybe make sense to the world visually.
In this specific piece of mine entitled as 'QUALITY IN QUARANTINE', the idea was mostly drawn from the heavy emotions I have felt during this COVID-19 situation. As one who is a part of the people experiencing this case, surely that as a student, a lot are dealing with a different kind of stress as we go through online classes. Students begin to face a different kind of stress and demotivation as not all are priviledged and also able to properly learn through a virtual world, and I am one of these people.
During the process of creating this artworm, I have decided to use the medium that I often use (digital art), specifically softwares Medibang and Photoshop, portraying an expression that I have felt during this quarantine.
